Technical Knowledge

• What is an Enterprise Router?

An enterprise router connects networks and manages how data travels between them. It allows computers, servers, switches, and other devices to communicate with each access external networks.

The Huawei AR720 is designed for business environments that require more advanced routing and network management than a basic home router.

• What are GE Combo WAN Ports?

GE stands for Gigabit Ethernet, which supports network speeds of up to 1 Gbps.

A combo port gives you both optical connection choices by sharing a single port depending on the interface setup that is supported.

The AR720 has two GE combo WAN ports, which give you ways to connect to the internet.

• What are Gigabit LAN Ports?

LAN stands for Local Area Network. The eight Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports let you hook up wired devices like computers, switches, servers, and other compatible gear.

All eight LAN-side GE interfaces can also be set up as WAN-side interfaces, giving you network flexibility.

• What Does 9 Mpps to 25 Mpps Mean?

Mpps stands for million packets per second. It tells you how many packets a router can handle each second.

The AR720 can forward traffic between 9 and 25 Mpps depending on packet size and how it is set up.

• What is VPN Technology?

VPN means Virtual Private Network. It helps you build links between places over a public or shared network.
